Youkoso Japanese Restaurant Overview
Youkoso means “welcome” in Japanese. On arrival we were greeted with smiles and bows by a kimono clad hostess who escorted us to one of the six Teppanyaki Bars in this spacious Restaurant.
The Menu and wine list were extensive and covered Sushi, Sashimi and Bento Boxes as well as the many traditional Teppanyaki dishes. All dishes were described in both English and Greek and we had no difficulty in finding something that suited our tastes.
My dining companion chose the fixed menu consisting of an oriental salad with traditional Japanese salad dressing followed by a delicious, delicate miso soup with seaweed. The main dish of prawns was cooked on the Tepanyaki Bar with mixed vegetables and egg fried rice.
I chose a starter of spring rolls which were light and crispy and accompanied with a blended Soya dipping sauce. My main was a sirloin steak diced and cooked Teppanyaki style which also came with egg fried rice and vegetables. Rather greedily I added side dishes of mushrooms and sauté’ potatoes which were far too much for me.
After the starters the fun began.
The chef demonstrated that he had more than culinary skills. Knives, spatulas, salt and pepper pots sailed in the air in a lively juggling display. As a finale, several of these items landed up in the Chef’s traditional tall hat. But this was not all. Lights were dimmed as each of the dishes was flambéed , providing diners with an array of both sights and sounds across the Restaurant.The Youkoso Japanese Restaurant combines an Asian dining experience with truly visual theatrical flair.

best food EVER!
Jane from Irelandwent to this resturant 2years ago now when i was on holidays. ever since, no meal i have ate has even come close. if i was only allowed 1 more meal in life i would definatly fly over to this 1. the salmon was gorgous!!

Losing my Ignorance!!
GeorgeI have been living and working in Paphos for over 15 years. Up until six months ago I had never been to a Japanese restaurant, so when a friend encouraged me to go, I put a huge resistance, claiming Chinese food was better! It was time to lose my ignorance and my friend insisted. Now I eat Japanese at least twice a week, because the Youkoso menu caters for all tastes and is excellent cuisine plus a relaxing atmosphere. I have hardly been to a Chinese restaurant since and am truly converted. Youkoso is truly 1st class.
